Cabo Pulmo and Cabo San Lucas Dive Extravaganza -- 2-9 October 2021Sold Out
Join us for some of the most amazing diving in western North America in Baja California Sur, Mexico. We'll arrive at the airport in San Jose del Cabo no later than Saturday, 2 October, and then take ground transportation to Cabo Pulmo and spend 4 nights and 4 days of diving. On Wednesday, 6 October, after our 2nd morning dive, we'll take ground transportation to Cabo San Lucas for 2 more days of diving, leaving on Saturday, 9 October.
This trip is limited to the first 9 divers who sign up as currently Baja Sur is under covid restrictions that limit the # of boats and # of divers on each boat. If this changes, we might be able to open the trip to additional divers.
This trip includes 6 days of 2 tank dives per day (optional 3rd tanks in the afternoon available for additional cost) in Cabo Pulmo and Cabo San Lucas.
The village of Cabo Pulmo is about a 1 1/2 hour drive north/northeast from the airport in San Jose del Cabo and was established in 1987 and currently has a population of 114, the National Marine Park of Cabo Pulmo was established in 1995 to protect the oldest living Coral Reef in North America. It has quickly become one of the biggest natural conservation success story in all of North America.
We'll dive 4 days in Cabo Pulmo, where we are likely to see some of the largest schools of jacks you've ever seen, bull sharks, beautiful hard corals (the largest aggregation of hard coral in Western North America), Gulf Grouper, free swimming green Moray Eels, a huge variety of beautiful reef fish, including Guineafowl Puffers and Moorish Idols.
In Cabo San Lucas, we'll spend 2 days of diving. One day in the local Marine Park near the Arch and Lover's Beach and Land's End (where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean) and the other day diving sites on the Corridor. Underwater sand falls, a variety of rays - including mobula rays, eagle rays and devil rays, reef fish and sea horses are just of a few of the treasures we might encounter.
Accommodations are included: In Cabo Pulmo, we'll have a number of bungalows/houses with rooms available for double or single occupancy. In Cabo San Lucas, we'll stay at the Bungalow's Hotel -- double or single occupancy available.
Food and flights and ground transportation are extra. We will arrange the ground transportation once we know our final # of divers for the trip....either sharing rental cars or a large passenger van. Costs will be shared equally by all participants, but in no case should exceed $150.00 per person.
Also, please note: If there are enough of us flying out of Tucson who can fly on the same agenda, we can arrange group flight pricing -- we'll pass the direct savings on to you.
A $500.00 deposit will hold one of the 9 spots. Refundable before 14 August 2021. Balance will be due by 2 September 2021.
